Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law prohibits the capture, loading, transport, marketing, processing and industrialization of the freshwater fish species Salminus brasiliensis or Salminus maxillosus (Golden dorado). This prohibition is valid for a period of five years from the publication of this Law, except for the "fish and let" modality, the consumption by professional fishermen and captive-bred specimens. Non-compliance with this Law subjects the offenders to the following sanctions: fine, simple or daily, from 100 to 1,000 (one thousand) UFERMS; seizure of the fishery product or by-product; total or partial ban on the establishment, activity or undertaking; suspension of license, authorization and registration; cancellation of license, authorization and registration in case of recidivism.
