This Law enters into force on 1 January 2010.
Abstract

This Law, regulating the relations arising in the process of elaboration and validation of mandatory technical requirements for commodities, production processes, manufacturing, operation, storage, transportation, trade, recycling of industrial waste and performance of works and rendering of services regarding safety of produce. It establishes the rights and duties of participants of the aforesaid relations. Produce safety must prevent risks for public health, life and environment. Produce must pass safety compliance test and certification for compliance with technical standards. Technical regulation shall be the competence of the authorized state institution. Technical regulation shall be based upon application of mandatory technical regulations and standards. The scope of application of technical regulations shall be as follows: (a) protection of human life and health, property of individuals and legal entities, public property; (b) protection of animals and plants; (c) protection of environment; and (c) prevention of actions misleading consumers. Elaboration of technical regulations for other purposes shall be prohibited.
