The Law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Law establishes legal grounds for the relations originating from prospecting, exploration and mining of minerals by Kyrgyz nationals and foreigners in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. It regulates relations in the process of conclusion, fulfilment and cessation of production sharing agreements and lays down terms and conditions for the aforesaid agreements. Relations originating from prospecting, exploration, mining of minerals, production sharing, and also transportation, processing, storage thereof shall be regulated by production sharing agreement concluded in accordance with the present Law. The Act consists of three Sections divided into 26 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) conclusion and fulfilment of production sharing agreements; and (3) conclusive provisions. Terms and conditions of subsoil management shall conform to the national legislation. The parties of production sharing agreement shall be Kyrgyz government on one side and national and foreign natural and legal persons investing in prospecting, exploration and extraction of minerals. The period of validity of production sharing agreement shall be established autonomously by the parties but shall not exceed 10 years.
