Abstract This Law regulates relations originating from turnover of civil firearms and is aimed at the protection of human life and health, environment and natural resources, it is also applicable to ammunition. Civil firearms shall include sport arms and hunting arms. Hunting firearms shall be subject to compulsory certification (Art. 9). Hunting firearms shall be subject to compulsory registration in the state register (Art. 10). Sport and hunting associations shall be granted the right of purchase of sport and hunting firearms (Art. 12). Citizens of Kyrgyzstan reaching the age of 20 years shall have the right of purchase and storage of sport and hunting firearms in accordance with licences and permits issued by specialized state institutions and bodies (Art. 15).
