This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 19 articles divided into seven Chapters, regulates the obligation of prior inspection of products of animal origin, produced in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, and intended for human consumption, based on art. 24 of the Federal Constitution, and in accordance with Federal Laws No. 1.283 of 18 December 1950 and No. 7.889 of 23 November 1989. Such inspection covers the sanitary and industrial products of animal origin, edible or not, by ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection of animals destined for slaughter, as well as the receipt, handling, processing, preparation, storage, packaging, labelling and transit of products of animal origin in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. The above mentioned inspection applies for the following animals: I - animals intended for slaughter, their products, by-products and raw materials; II - fish and fish products; III - milk and milk products; IV - eggs and their derivatives; V - honey, beeswax and their derivatives.
