Abstract This Law establishes that the Executive Branch is the competent authority entitled to create an Incentive Programme for the Cultivation and Commercialization of Unconventional Food Plants (UFPs) within the State of Amazonas. This Programme is intended to encourage the growth of family farming, through the process of agroecological transition (without the use of pesticides) and to improve the quality of life of consumers through Unconventional Food Plants (UFPs). The Government of the State of Amazonas is allowed to adopt measures for the reduction and/or exemption of taxes and duties that affect or would affect the cultivation and the commercialization of Unconventional Food Plants (UFPs).
