This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law establishes the State Policy to Encourage the Generation and Use of Solar Energy within the State of Amazonas. The objectives of the State Policy are: stimulate investments for ecologically correct solar energy systems, including technological development and the production of photovoltaic and photothermal solar energy for self consumption in private and public enterprises; create employment and income alternatives; improve energy efficiency and reduce costs; mitigate negative impacts on the environment; universalize the public energy service; encourage the use of cleaner technologies; stimulate the use of renewable energy sources; encourage the production of equipment and components for the generation of solar energy in the State of Amazonas; foster training programmes to work at all stages of the production chain; stimulate the creation of companies providing service for solar panels; foster research and development programmes in state institutions to ensure photovoltaic solar energy technology; diversify the Amazonian energy matrix; reliability and security of supply.
