Abstract

This Law, consisting of 14 articles creates the High Authority Against Corruption. It establishes composition and duties of the above mentioned Authority, responsible for: a) Investigate facts that justify well-founded suspicions of an act of corruption or fraud, of an offense against the public patrimony, of the abusive exercise of public functions; b) Carry out investigations aimed at ascertaining the legality of certain administrative acts or procedures; c) Monitor the acts involving patrimonial interests, namely the acquisition and disposal of patrimonial goods or the payment of indemnities, imports or export of goods and services, granting or refusing credits or debt forgiveness; d) Monitor the progress of any processes in the competent entities for criminal or disciplinary proceedings; e) Inform the competent authorities of the results of their inquiries for complementary investigative acts; g) Propose the adoption of legislative measures to improve the functioning of services and respect for administrative legality, etc.
