Abstract This Law, consisting of 14 articles, provides for noise emission requirements and sets levels and times in which noise emission is allowed. This Law establishes the procedural norms for the exercise of administrative police power of the State of Rondônia regarding the measurement and control of noise pollution. The disturbance of the public's peace and well-being by the emission of sounds and noise by any sources or activities that disobey the premises established in this Law is prohibited. Maximum levels of sounds and noises from any source and nature in undertakings or commercial activities, of services, public or private, are: 60 decibels, in the nocturnal period; and 55 decibels, during the daytime period. In case of proven sound pollution, technicians of the competent body, in the exercise of the inspection action, have free access to the dependencies where the issuing sources are installed.
