Abstract This Law, consisting of 26 articles divided into four Chapters, establishes the regime on the prevention and control of noise pollution, with a view to safeguarding Public Health and the well-being of populations. The Law applies to permanent and temporary noisy activities and to other sources of noise likely to cause annoyance, namely: a) Construction, reconstruction, expansion, alteration or conservation of buildings; b) Civil construction works; c) Shows, entertainment, sport events; d) Alarm systems. The Law also applies to neighborhood noise and does not apply to noisy public utility activities. The Law is divided as follows: General provisions, object and definitions (Chap.
