Abstract This Law provides for the State policy for the protection, conservation and improvement of the environment. The objectives of the State Environmental System are: promote the preservation, improvement and recovery of environmental quality; coordinate and integrate activities linked to the defense of the Environment; promote the development and improvement of environmental protection standards; encourage the development of research and technological processes aimed at reducing the degradation of environmental quality; encourage the carrying out of educational activities and community participation in the process of preserving the environment; promote the conservation of the State’s environmental and landscape heritage.
