Abstract This Law, consisting of 8 articles divided into three Chapters, creates the Food and Nutrition Security Council of the State of Roraima (CONSEA-RR). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Council entitled to propose policies, programmes and actions dealing with the right to food and nutrition as an integral part of human rights; propose and monitor government actions in the area of food and nutritional security; articulate areas of state government with civil society organizations for the implementation of actions aimed at combating the causes of misery and hunger within the State of Roraima; encourage partnership that ensures mobilization and rationalization in the use of available resources; promote and coordinate public awareness campaigns with a view to combining efforts; formulate the state food and nutrition security plan; interact with society for information related to the fight against hunger, misery and social exclusion; stimulate the creation of Municipal Councils for Food and Nutrition Security and maintain with them a close relationship, especially in relation to the actions defined as priorities in the scope of the Food and Nutrition Security Policy.
