The Agreement is provisionally ratified according to article 38 and permanently after the requirements prescribed by article 39 of the Agreements have been fulfilled (article 3 of the Law). Abstract This law ratifies the international tropical timber Agreement which was signed in Geneva on 27 January 2006 (article 1 of the present law). The objectives of the Agreement are to promote the expansion and diversification of international trade in tropical timber from sustainably managed and legally harvested forests and to promote the sustainable management of tropical timber producing forests. The International Tropical Timber Organization established by the international tropical timber Agreement, 1983 shall continue in being for the purposes of administering the provisions and supervising the operation of the Agreement. The highest authority of the Organization shall be the International Tropical Timber Council, which shall consist of all the members of the Organization. The law, consisting of three articles (ratification, amendments to the Agreement and entry into force), adopts all its provisions. The amendments mentioned in article 40 to the Agreement shall be ratified in compliance with the current constitutional requirements of Greece (article 2). Full text Greek Website www.et.gr
