Abstract This Law establishes legal grounds for geodetic and cartographic activity and is aimed at supply of geodetic, cartographic and mapping materials to state bodies, other organizations and natural persons, including individual entrepreneurs. Objects of geodetic and cartographic activity shall be: (a) outer space, including distant zoning of the Earth; (b) geographic objects; (c) geodetic stations; and (geodetic and cartographic materials and data (Art. 4). Geodetic and cartographic activity shall be based on the following principles: (a) state regulation; (b) state supervision; (c) consistency; (d) reliability and actuality of geodetic and cartographic materials and data; (e) equal access to information; and (f) liability (Art. 6).
