Abstract This Law approves the Angolan Penal Code. The Code, consisting of 473 articles divided in two Books (seven Titles and nine Titles respectively), protects the legal assets essential to safeguarding the State and citizens as well as the development of institutions. It regulates the limits of penalties, remissions, the transitional regime, juvenile criminal liability, and contravention. The Penal Code has two parts, a General Part, which regulates the Criminal Law, the Punishable Fact, the Legal Consequences of the Fact, the Particular Complaint and Accusation, the Extinction of Criminal Liability, the Compensation for Losses and Damages for Crime and Contravention and a Special Part, which regulates crimes against persons, against the family, against public faith, against collective security, against State Security, against natural heritage, against the environment, against peace and the international community, computer crimes and against the consumer and the market.
