Abstract This Law, consisting of 7 Chapters, regulates aquaculture activity within the State of Amazonas. It specifies the requirements to be met in order to perform any aquaculture activities developed in ponds, dams, streams, creek channels, tanks, among other structures located in urban or rural areas. It applies for and classifies aquaculture sustainable exploitation and management, regulated by the competent State authority, which will be responsible to issue environmental licensing. It prescribes also for offences and penalties for illegal activities.
