Abstract Article 1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Article 1. This Law establishes legal grounds for the functioning and conservation of protected areas, setting up, reorganization and cessation of the functioning thereof and is aimed at natural ecosystems conservation, and also conservation of biological and landscape diversity.” Article 41 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Article 41. Protection of protected areas. Protection of protected areas shall be carried out: (a) reserves and national parks – by the authorized state environmental institutions; and (b) wildlife sanctuaries and nature monuments – by state managing bodies and other managing organizations to which jurisdiction wildlife sanctuaries and nature monuments were transferred, by land tenants which land plots are located within the boundaries of wildlife sanctuaries and nature monuments and, in case of setting up special environmental institutions for the management of wildlife sanctuaries and nature monuments – by these institutions.” Full text Russian Website laws.newsby.org References - Legislation Amends Law No. 396-Z on protected areas and objects.
