Abstract This Law regulates relations in the sphere of protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna and has as its purpose conservation thereof in its natural habitats. It shall not be applicable to fisheries and hunting. Wild fauna species living in state of natural freedom in their natural habitats shall be property of the state. Basic principles for regulation of the issues related to wild fauna shall be as follows: (a) state regulation and control of protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna; (b) inadmissibility of combination of activities related to state supervision and control of wild fauna management with the activities related to use of wild fauna species; (c) sustainable management of wild fauna species; (d) charged management of wild fauna; (e) liability for the infringement of legislation on wild fauna management; (f) public participation; (g) access to information on wild fauna; and (h) international cooperation.
