Abstract

This Law aims to guarantee the identity and quality of plant propagating material for consumer protection within the State. The Institution of Agricultural, Livestock and Forestry Protection of Acre (IDAF/AC) is responsible to implement and comply with this law. Public security agencies, when necessary, within their areas of activity, must collaborate with IDAF/AC. In particular, this Law will provide for the control of plant propagating material, involving any requirement that contributes to the guarantee of its identity and quality. Operators of plant propagating material will be obliged to comply with requirements for the identity and quality of such material, at their own expense, with no right to compensation. Operators of plant propagating material will be mandatorily responsible for plant propagating material and related activities. The inspection and audit of plant propagating material is under the exclusive responsibility of the agricultural state fiscal auditor. Offences and penalties for infringement are specified in Chapter 3. Taxes in Chapter 4.
