Abstract Sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population is such a state of public health and human natural habitation when impact of negative and injurious factors on human organism is lacking and is created favourable conditions for human activity. Social associations, enterprises, organizations, institutions and citizens must strictly observe sanitary and hygienic requirements set for processing, transport, storage and trade of foodstuffs and food raw materials, to employ food additives after testing and certification thereof by the Ministry of Public Health in accordance with the established modalities (art. 20). State institutions, social associations, enterprises, organizations and citizens must provide for compliance of potable water with hygienic requirements and standards (art. 21). The Law consists of 7 Sections that contain 41 articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 5-10) establishes the rights of citizens, state institutions, social associations, enterprises, organizations and bodies as regards ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population. Section 3 (arts. 11-26) establishes duties of state institutions, social associations, enterprises, organizations, bodies, officials and citizens as regards ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population. Section 4 (arts. 27-32) regards organization of state sanitary supervision and control. Section 5 (arts. 33-37) regards state sanitary and epidemiological service.
