Abstract This Law, consisting of 143 articles, sets out principles and measures for the management, monitoring and inspection of waterways, in respect of the principles of efficiency, effectiveness, modernity, sustainability and the protection of environment. The Law defines the following relevant terms: vessels, boats and water vehicles made of wood and metal; ships; dangerous goods, including radioactive materials and chemicals harmful to health, human life and animals; river infrastructures; water accidents, including those causing damages during navigation and affecting human life, property, environment, ecosystem, economy.
