Abstract

This law ratifies the revised European Convention for the Protection of Animals During International Transport which was signed in Chisinau on 6 November 2003 (article 1 of the present law). This Convention contains provisions designed to overcome defects and to facilitate the implementation of the principles of the initial Convention. It is built as a framework convention laying down essential principles applying to all species. It provides for technical protocols which can be amended following a simplified procedure, facilitating thereby their updating in the light of scientific evidence and experience acquired. The law, consisting of two articles (ratification and entry into force) adopts all the provisions of the Convention.
