Abstract This law consisting of 17 Articles aims at establishing the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), a public non-profit body affiliated to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), aiming to establish the UAE as a global leader in humanitarian initiatives, focusing on uplifting impoverished communities and promoting sustainable development. The organization's main objectives are (i) support UAE-based humanitarian entities, enhance their capabilities for responding to global emergencies; (ii) contribute to international efforts for clean drinking water access, disease prevention, and protection of water resources; (iii) provide clean water and essential necessities globally; (iv) employ modern technology to address the global water shortage crisis; (v) offer innovative solutions to communities facing water-related challenges. To achieve these goals, Suqia engages in financing water technology projects, developing solar energy-based purification solutions, promoting social responsibility, supporting collaborative efforts, fundraising for clean water research, contributing to business ventures, forming committees, and undertaking necessary activities for its objectives. Suqia is authorized to establish research centers for conducting studies, issuing reports on water crisis solutions, supporting solar energy-based water production, performing field experiments, coordinating with international entities, organizing scientific conferences, and undertaking any other duties aligned with its assigned powers.
