Abstract This law aims at the protection of the public health, animal wealth and environment against epidemic and contagious diseases. It is composed of 8 Chapters divided into 39 articles. Chapter I gives terms and definitions. Chapter II defines objectives and scope of application. Chapter III deals with the control and quarantine of the transit of animals, animal products, remaining and lefts. Chapter IV defines preventive and precautionary measures and arrangements against epidemic and parasitic diseases. Chapter V defines sanitary measures and arrangements in case of appearance and manifestation of epidemic and contagious diseases in particular: communication and information; verification and diagnosis; isolation; quarantine; destruction and slaughtering; and, compensation and indemnification. Chapter VI contains general provisions. Chapter VII provides for offences and penalties. Chapter VIII contains concluding and transitional provisions.
