Abstract This Law, consisting 15 articles divided into five Chapters, establishes the State Policy on Cooperatives within the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. This Policy is the set of principles, objectives and instruments aimed at regulating the organization of activities of cooperative societies, as well as any activity originating in the public or private sector in favour of cooperatives. The attributions of the State Government in the support and encouragement to the cooperatives will be executed in the form of this Law, proclaiming and adopting the federal legislation of cooperative societies. Regular Cooperatives are considered if they are constituted according to the norms of the federal legislation and are registered and registered in the form of art. 5 of this Law requiring their registration in the organization of Brazilian cooperatives in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul-OCB/MS, pursuant to art. 107 of Federal Law No. 5.764 of 16 December 1971.
