Abstract This Law establishes the arrangements for supply to consumers safe and qualitative commodities. State regulation in the sphere of protection of consumers’ rights shall be carried out by the Government through competent authority that shall cooperate and interact with consumers’ associations and unions. Consumers shall have the following rights: (a) access to information about commodities and manufacturers; (b) purchase of safe commodities; (c) full compensation of damages caused to life and health by defective and poor quality commodities; and (d) legal protection. Foodstuffs packaged and labelled in a place different from the place of origin shall bear information on packer and wrapper, and also on the date of packaging and wrapping.
