This Law enters into force 60 days after its publication.
Abstract

This Law on Mercantile Marine, Harbours and related activities aims at establishing the legal basis and requirements to be satisfied for performing the above mentioned activities. It consists of 16 Chapters, regulating the maritime economic sector, in order to perform in a harmonious way any activity related to the development and exploitation of this sector. It also establishes competent authorities to carry out controls and to apply sanctions to be paid for illegal activity to any ships, vessels or for any other maritime activity on surface or underwater. It applies for any registration or nationality of vessel owner, management or use.
