Abstract The main tasks of seed growing are: 1) creation of the proper basis for seed growing of agricultural plant variety; 2) conservation of biological and economically valuable characteristics of plant variety and hybrids of seeds in the process of renewal; 3) conservation and efficient use of precious national and international genetic resources; 4) production of new high-yielding varieties; 5) state inspection of seed quality (art. 2).
