Abstract This Law regulates the licensing of the production and trade of biological, healing, and other chemical-pharmaceutical substances and cattle food (food additives). It applies to the import of the above-listed products as well as to products of animal origin (raw materials) and to the issuance of permits for the transit of such goods. It further contains a list of activities and terms-conditions that shall apply to the issuance of licenses and permits. Activities subject to licensing shall include veterinary inspection of: (a) slaughterhouses; (b) sanitary pits; (c) shops and stores selling live mammals, poultry, bees, and amphibians; (d) enterprises (plants) processing products of animal origin; (e) stores, open air markets and other trading centres; and (f) production of cattle food (food additives) and biological, healing, and other chemical-pharmaceutical substances used exclusively for veterinary purposes.
