Abstract This Law approves the Legal Regime of Land Registry. This Legal Regime, consisting of 42 articles divided in seven Chapters, regulates the characterization and identification of land and the existing buildings in the national territory. It establishes the general principles to which the execution, renovation and conservation of the Registry obeys, stipulating that the description of the buildings comprises their physical, economic and legal characteristics, including their location and cadastral identification, the surface, use or destination, the quality of the constructions, the graphic representation, their real estate value and the cadastral holders, and regulating the characterization and identification of the buildings, the attributions and competences of the interveners, the exercise of cadastral activities by private entities, the processes of execution, renovation and conservation of the register and the cadastral cartography.
