Abstract This Law, consisting of 27 articles and one Annex, establishes the Legal Regime for the Marketing, Import, Distribution and Production of Single-Use Plastic materials and objects produced with plastic materials. This Law applies to all sectors of economic and industrial activity and to all economic agents engaged in both wholesale and retail trade, formal or informal, and to all stages of manufacture, processing and distribution of materials and single-use plastic objects, with the exception of the areas of health, cosmetics and personal hygiene. Plastic materials and articles are manufactured in accordance with good manufacturing practices, so that, under foreseeable conditions of use, they do not transfer their constituents into the contents in quantities that could: a) represent a danger to human health; b) cause an unacceptable change in the composition of the food; or c) cause a deterioration of its organoleptic characteristics. Prohibition of placing single-use plastic objects on the market and inspection to detect non-compliance with measures and standards are detailed in the Law.
