Abstract This Law, consisting of 12 articles, creates the State Programme for Productive Family Farm Certification in Acre. This State Programme aims to establish a voluntary environmental certification process for rural family farm production, providing opportunities for social and economic inclusion, and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources and a proper management planning. Additional State Programme objectives are: the mitigation and adaptation to climate change and the consequent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; the sustainable and appropriate use of natural resources and socio-biodiversity conservation; the conservation of water resources; and the income generation through sustainable production.
