Abstract This Law modifying A. 630-bis of Penal Code reformulates the definition of the “caporalato” crime (Illicit intermediation and labour exploitation). The new formula increases the amount of the fine and establishes that a person is guilty of the “caporalato” crime when: 1) as intermediary recruits workers to be exploited by others taking advantage of their economic and social vulnerability; 2) uses, recruits and employs workers, also through intermediaries, exploiting them and taking advantage of their economic and social vulnerability.
