This Law enters into force on 31 March 1998.
Abstract

The breadth of the territorial sea is established at 12 nautical miles in article 1. Article 2 sets out coordinates of baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured. Waters enclosed by these baselines are declared to be archipelagic waters. The EEZ of Sao Tome and Principe shall extend 200 nautical miles from the baselines. Article 5 specifies coordinates of the outer limits of the EEZ. Article 6 defines the rights of Sao Tome and Principe with respect to protection of living resources, prevention of pollution, etc., in its EEZ. (10 articles)
