The provisions of this Law aim at meeting sociocultural purposes, scientific research, environmental education, conservation, exhibition, maintenance, breeding, reproduction, marketing, processing of products and by-products, and on-site preservation. Any holder of Melipona native bees of the Paraná State must request the Environmental Management Authorization (AAM) issued by the environmental agency. The environmental agency will present a list of Melipona native bee species requiring the AAM, whose natural occurrence includes the limits of the Brazilian biomes of the State of Paraná. Breeders of Melipona species considered exotic, and that were acquired in the period prior to the publication of this Law, may regularize their situation with the environmental body, but they will not be allowed to multiply and commercialize these bees.
