Abstract This Law provides for the operational and financial management of the São Francisco River Integration Project (PISF), in a sustained manner, within the State of Ceará. The operational and financial management of PISF involves the achievement and practice of the following objectives and acts: guarantee its operational and financial sustainability; security of water supply for multiple uses, prioritizing human consumption; monitoring the execution of the Annual Management Plan (PGA); presentation of the Annual Operation Plan of the State of Ceará (POA); establishment of the charge to ensure resources intended to pay the tariff stipulated by the Federal Union; monitoring volumes and flows in the State raw water reserve and transfer system, linked to PISF; promotion of practices that encourage the efficient and sustainable use of water, considering the social, economic and environmental benefits; standardization and preparation of studies and projects concerning the distribution of water supplied by PISF.
