Abstract The State Policy to Promote the Development of the Bamboo Production Chain. The Policy has the following objectives: stimulate research and technical assistance for the production, management and use of bamboo; promote the training of technicians, farmers and artisans; create State public policies to encourage the production of seedlings and bamboo planting material to meet the demand for raw materials; encourage the use of bamboo in the recovery of degraded areas, and in the formation of agroforestry systems; encourage partnerships with public and private entities to enhance the production and commercialization of products derived from bamboo; facilitate authorization for the exploitation of bamboo in areas of public domain, through a planting and management plan; support and encourage initiatives to organize producers, artisans in regional and state associations; and disseminate knowledge through the preparation and distribution of teaching material.
