Abstract This Law establishes the State Agricultural Policy for Planted Forests and their Products The Policy aims at the sustainable development by reaffirming the importance of agricultural and livestock activity and the role of planted forests in sustainability, economic growth, improving the population's quality of life and in the national and international markets for forest-based products, food and bioenergy. The Policy will be based, for commercial purposes, on promoting socioeconomic development, structuring and establishing forest-based productive arrangements, income-generating activities, in addition to generating environmental benefits, such as conservation of native forest formations, carbon sequestration, recovery of degraded areas and nutrient recycling.
