Abstract Article 6 (1) shall be amended to add the following wording: “Naval Agency of the Republic of Moldova (NARM) shall perform the following plenary powers: (a) control of the flag state and the port state; (b) technical supervision of vessels, monitoring of classification processes and issuance of relevant certificates to vessels by recognized classification societies; (c) registration, attestation and certification of crew members; (d) supervision of navigation, control and management of vessel traffic on inland waterways and in the ports of the Republic of Moldova; (e) enforcement of naval regulations; (f) supervision over safety of navigation of vessels and safety of harbors; (g) registration of vessels and small-size vessels flying Moldova flag; (h) protection of national waterways against pollution form ships; (i) ensuring the fulfillment of the obligations of the state arising from international agreements and conventions to which the Republic of Moldova is a party, in the field of its activities, including international cooperation, exchange of experience and information with international organizations; (j) international cooperation in the sphere of water transport; and (k) validation of technical regulations and standards related to water transport and navigation”.
