Abstract

This Law, consisting of 5 articles and one Annex, establishes the requirements for the use of Discarded Moulding Sands (ADF). The use of ADF, in the most environmentally appropriate manner, will be used for the production of asphalt concrete, concrete and mortar for concrete artifacts, the manufacture of tiles, bricks and other articles of clay for ceramic articles, laying of pipes and of paving, base, sub-base, subgrade reinforcement for roads, highways, urban roads and for daily coverage in landfills. The careful use of these sands ADF will contribute to an increase in the life of the sanitary and industrial landfills as well as to the preservation of natural resources, as recommended by the National Solid Waste Policy, established by the Federal Law No. 12.305 of 2 August 2010. The authorization aims to contribute to sustainable development, with a view to harmonizing the components of economic growth, social equity and environmental quality. The Annex specifies the procedures on the use of discarded sands.
