Abstract This Law establishes the State Programme for Artisanal Food Quality Certification of Family Farming Products within the State of Ceará. Artisanal food are those produced with regional traditional characteristics, produced by family farmers and that meet the quality control requirements of foodstuffs for human consumption. The certification established by this Law will be granted by the Department of Agrarian Development of the State of Ceará - SDA, through the Coordination of the Development of Family Agriculture (CODAF). It is up to CODAF to define the criteria for the issuance of the Certification, which was created, and must observe the provisions of Federal Law No. 9,782 of January 26, 1999, which defines the National Health Surveillance System, creates the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency, and gives other provisions and State Law No. 15,910, dated December 11, 2015, which provides for the Food Acquisition Policy of Family Agriculture of the State of Ceará.
