Abstract This Law establishes organizational, legal, economic, social bases, tasks and basic principles of state support for handicrafts. Craftsmanship and handicraft shall be intended manual production carried out by an artisan at home or on small business, for the manufacturing, processing and production of goods, household products and souvenirs. The fields of handicraft include wool processing and gastronomy. The main principles of the field of handicraft are: (a) legitimacy; (b) transparency; (c) equality of handicraft subjects; (d) guarantee of protection of the rights of artisans; (e) priority development of handicrafts; (f) provision of state guarantees in the field of handicraft; and (g) wide promotion of handicrafts as a sphere representing the national culture, traditions and history. Handicraft in the Republic of Tajikistan is considered one of the priority sectors. This industry is supported by the adoption of normative legal acts, organizations, promotion and holding of national and international handicraft events and other measures.
