Abstract This Law creates the State Policy on Climate Change (PEMC). It will guide the elaboration of the State Plan on Climate Change, of the municipal plans, as well as other plans, programmes, projects and related actions, direct or indirectly, with climate change. PEMC will be implemented by the Environmental Secretariat (SEMA), in conjunction with the state administrative bodies. The measures to be taken for its implementation include the following: reduce the impacts due to anthropic interference with the climate system; avoid or minimize the identified causes of climate change with anthropic origin; different socio-economic contexts of its application, distribute the burdens between the economic sectors and the communities concerned, in a socially fair manner; sustainable development, based on the principle of environment socio-ecologically balanced; etc. Full text Portuguese Website www2.al.ce.gov.br
