Abstract

This Law provides for the ratification and the adoption of the Agreement to Implement the Provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982, relating to Conservation and Management of Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks, approved by United Nations Security Council on 4 August 1995. The text of the Agreement in the English original is set out at Part I of the attachment and its Greek translation in Part II. In case of contradiction between the two texts, the English version prevails. The Law identifies the competent authority for the implementation of the provisions of this Law as the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment or a person duly authorised for this purpose by the Minister and empowers the Council of Minister to issue Regulations to determine anything that is needed or can be determined for the better implementation of the provisions of this Law and provides for specific conditions of publication and entry into force of the Regulations.
