Abstract This Law, consisting 23 articles divided into seven Chapters, establishes the State Policy to Support Cooperatives within the State of Minas Gerais. This State Policy consists of a set of guidelines and rules aimed at encouraging cooperative activity and its development within the State. To implement this policy, the State Power is responsible to carry out the following actions: to create instruments and mechanisms that stimulate the continuous growth of the cooperative activity; to provide educational and technical assistance to cooperatives based in the State; to establish financial incentives for the creation and development of the cooperative system; to facilitate the contact of the cooperatives with each other and with their partners.
