This Law shall enter into force 30 days after its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 78 articles divided into eight Chapters, establishes the Regulatory Framework for the Provision of Services for Water Supply and Sanitary Sewage. In addition, it creates the State Sanitation Council (CESAM) with a view to protecting the environment and protecting public health, in accordance with arts. 24, VI and XII, and 200, IV, of the Federal Constitution. The general objectives of this Regulatory Framework is to ensure the benefits of environmental health to the population of the State of Goiás by promoting and implementing articulated actions of the State and Municipalities and the interaction of users and providers services in the defense of public health. The provisions of this Law apply to water supply and sewage service providers in the State of Goiás, as well as to providers and users, to regulatory and supervisory entities and to third parties involved, except for municipal jurisdiction. The Goiás Agency for the Regulation, Control and Inspection of Public Services-AGR and the regulatory and supervisory bodies created in the Municipal scope are competent to apply this Regulatory Framework.
