Abstract This Law, consisting of 8 articles, establishes the integrated environmental assessment licensing of the hydrographical basin for hydroelectric power plants. It establishes the requirements to be satisfied in order to obtain an environmental licence to perform the above mentioned activity. Environmental licensing of Small Hydroelectric Plants within the State is not mandatory, except when: a deforestation of native forest up to 150 ha is necessary and the involved area extension is more than 300 ha.
