Abstract This Law, consisting 21 articles, establishes the State Policy on Cooperatives within the State of Rondônia. The attributions of the State Government, in the support and encouragement to cooperatives, aims at complying the pertinent federal legislation. To implement the policy it is the responsibility of the State public authority: to create instruments and mechanisms that stimulate the cooperative activity; to provide educational and technical assistance to cooperatives within the State, in partnership with entities and Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives in the State of Rondônia-OCB/RO; to establish financial incentives for the creation and development of the cooperative system; to facilitate cooperative contracts with their partners; to support technically and operationally the cooperatives in Rondônia, promoting, operational partnerships for the development of the cooperative system; to stimulate the cooperative form of social, economic and cultural organization in the various branches of action, based on the general principles of society; to stimulate the study of cooperatives in the schools, aiming at changing parameters of organization of production and consumption; to promote research to contribute to the development of the cooperative activity; to spread government policies for the sector; and provide capacity building for cooperative applicants.
