This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law creates the National Policy to Promote Precision Agriculture and Livestock, aimed at expanding the use of agricultural production techniques in Brazil. Precision agriculture and livestock is considered to be the set of tools and technologies applied in an agricultural management system aiming to increase efficiency in the application of resources and production inputs, to reduce waste and increase productivity and competitiveness, as well as ensure environmental, social and economic sustainability. The Policy guidelines are: I - support for innovation, covering all kind of production; II - environmental, social and economic sustainability; III - technological development and its diffusion; IV - extension of the research, development and innovation network in the agricultural sector; V - encouraging the extension of the internet connection network and infrastructure in rural areas of the country; VI - articulation and collaboration between federal, state and municipal public entities and the private sector; and VII - disclosure of credit lines available to finance precision agriculture and livestock. The instruments of the Policy are: I - research and technological development; II - technical assistance and rural extension; III - managerial training of skilled labour at a technical and higher level; IV - forums, chambers and sectoral, public and private councils; V - access to lines of credit for equipment; and VI - incentives for the development of a national precision agriculture and livestock industry.
