This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 11 articles, provides for the State Policy to Support the Indigenous Communities of Paraná. This State Policy aims to promote and encourage the self-preservation of indigenous communities, assuring them the right to special assistance in health, education and productive activities, in compliance with the recognition of their culture and social organization. The Policy objectives are: provide special assistance to peoples, indigenous communities, aiming at the equity of services rendered; guarantee these peoples the means for their self-support, respecting their cultural differences; ensure indigenous peoples the freedom to choose their livelihoods and subsistence; promote respect for the social organization, customs, languages ​​and traditions of indigenous peoples and communities, all their goods, ways of living, cultural and artistic values ​​and other forms of expression; implement, with indigenous peoples participation, actions, programmes and projects that benefit them; guarantee indigenous the permanent possession and the exclusive usufruct of their traditional lands; protect assets of artistic, historical and cultural value, archaeological sites and other forms of reference to the identity, action and history of indigenous peoples and communities.
